Smith Campus Swing Jam

The Lindy League of Western Massachusetts is wicked excited to announce a new dance! We're teaming up with The Smith College Hooked on Swing Society (SHOSS) to bring you a second Friday swing dance extravaganza on Smith Campus. There will be a lesson with our friends Adam and Camille and then awesome swinging music from DJ Camille 'C-Jam' Fontanella and Mark 'RaggMopp' Page.

Schedule

  • 7:00pm -- Beginner Swing with Adam and Camille
  • 8:00pm to 11:00pm -- music with DJs Camille 'C-Jam' Fontanella and Mark 'RaggMopp' Page

Cover Charge: $8 for the dance, $5 for students and seniors and SHOSS members get in free (lesson before the dance is included. More for live bands.)

4th Story Stomp

The Lindy League brings you a monthly dance on the 4th Saturday of every month, on the fourth story of the Fitzwilly's building in downtown Northampton, Mass.

The evening starts at 6:30pm with Balboa and 6-count swing lessons. Then we offer simultaneous beginner and intermediate Lindy Hop lessons starting at 7:30pm.

All ages and all skill levels are welcome. No partner is necessary.

  • 6:30pm -- Balboa with Mark and Christine
  • 6:30pm -- Beginner 6-Count Swing
  • 7:30pm -- Intermediate Lindy Hop with Adam and Camille
  • 7:30pm -- Beginner Lindy Hop
  • 8:30pm to 11:30pm -- DJs Camille 'C-Jam' Fontanella and Tricia Lea

Shoes: Please bring clean shoes with non-marking soles if you don't have shoes made specifically for dancing.

Cover Charge: $8 for the dance ($5 for students and seniors). One lesson is included in the price for the dance. If you choose to take a second lesson, add $5/person.

Intermediate Series and Practice Session

The Lindy League is now teaming up with the Wednesday night dance at the Northampton Center for the Arts to expand our progressive Lindy Hop series to include both a beginner- and intermediate-level progressive lindy hop series. Both classes start at 6pm, Wednesdays. The intermediate classes will continue indefinitely. Check back here for updates.

Mark and Christine, Adam and Camille will be taking turns teaching the two series; we hope to be able to mix it up from month to month, so that the intermediate class will cover such topics as Balboa, Blues, Charleston, Solo Jazz, and whatever else it is we are qualified to teach!

The intermediate series is not for beginners. Please check with your instructor to see if you are ready to move to the intermediate level.

The Wednesday night classes will be followed by a dance at the Center for the Arts from 8:30-11:00pm.

Cost: $5 for either lesson, $10 for the lesson and the dance. If you want to take another one of the classes offered, you can get two classes and the dance for $15.
